I’m a horseback-riding, yoga-doing, globe-trotting, plant-eating, free-spirited champion of gender equality, holistic wellness and ecological conservation. After two years in a very cushy marketing career, I craved a change that would allow me to make more of a difference, and made the decision to further my education in the field I am most passionate about: Holistic Nutrition. An English Literature and Creative Writing major, my goal is to utilize my writing and communications skills to enhance my activism and solidify my footing as a holistic wellness expert.
A survivor of anorexia and a subsequent binge-eating disorder, I have experienced first-hand how diet directly affects physical, emotional and spiritual quality of life. I’m intimately familiar with the nuances (both positive and negative) of weight loss and gain, of body image, and of societal pressures and perspectives of women, and how crucial a holistic, plant-based approach is to healing. I am eager to distill my personal knowledge and experience into a formal education that will allow me to coach others through the journey of eating disorder recovery and metabolic repair.
