I have been affected by health my whole life. Growing up and being surrounded by people who have had auto-immune disorders, cancer, and other various illnesses has led me to my interest in pursuing a full certification towards a Holistic Nutrition Certification.
I grew up not having any guidance about my various ailments, and understanding what I consumed as well as my genetics had a profound influence on my life.
After years of being sick and not getting better, I slowly changed my diet and cut out many foods, and am now on a gluten-free, plant based diet. Although this seems limiting, I have learned that there are various ways to incorporate exciting flavours and nutrients into this diet from my background in the culinary career.
I worked in kitchens for about ten years, and I found it mentally and physically taxing for little return. But the whole time I loved making good food for people.
This experience paired with my career in the culinary world, and seeing how food affects people, lead me to want to further myself more in the world of holistic nutrition.
My hope is to understand people such as myself better, free from judgement and with real solutions.
