Coming from a childhood that involved many unhealthy treats, I have come into adulthood with a pretty active sweet tooth. Growing up we had healthy, balanced family dinners, but there were always a lot of unhealthy, sugar filled options for snacks available. And let’s face it, what kid would choose a veggie over a brownie? I know what I used to choose.
Now that I am focused on my health, I have had to get creative to satisfy some of my sweet cravings without completely losing sight of my goals. I have spent many hours looking up new recipes and adapting them to suit my tastes. I also transform old recipes into healthier ones by switching out some of the ingredients. Here is a recipe I have been using for cookie dough balls.
Satisfying My Sweet Tooth
Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup vanilla protein powder (I prefer vegan, but the choice is yours)
- 1 Tbsp coconut sugar
- 1 Tbsp coconut flour
- 2 Tbsp coconut manna (softened)
- 1 Tbsp almond butter
- 2 Tbsp almond milk
- 1/2 Tsp vanilla
- 1/2 Tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
*Optional 2 Tbsp chocolate chips
Directions
- Mix all of the ingredients together and roll into 8-10 small balls
- Refrigerate for an hour
This recipe isn’t one that I use a lot, but when I really feel like cheating it is a great option!!!! It tastes amazing, just like real cookie dough, without all of the extra calories and processed ingredients.
Enjoy!!
